Francisco Domingo Joaquim is able to fit an entire 330ml can of drink between his jaws, sideways.

He can stretch his mouth 17cm wide – a distance of just over six and half inches.

Joaquim, also known as “Chiquinho”, has appeared on Italian television demonstrating his ability to place and remove a can of Coke from his mouth 14 times in under 60 seconds.

On learning that he would feature in the 2011 book of Guinness World Records, Chiquinho said it was “a dream come true”.

He was spotted by Guinness researchers demonstrating his talents on the video-sharing website YouTube.

It then took a further two years to track him down to a market place in his home town.

“Mathlete” Alexis Lemaire, 27, found the answer to the 13th root of a random 200-digit number in 70.2 seconds by sheer brain power – beating his own world record of 72.4 seconds he set in November.

Alexis Lemaire correctly calculated an answer of 2,407,899,893,032,210 from the possibility of 393 trillion answers at London’s Science Museum today.

He used a computer package which randomly generated a 200-digit number. As soon as the number appeared, he began to calculate its 13th root. When he had the answer, he typed it into the computer, which told him he had the right answer and how fast he made his calculation.

Jane Wess, curator of mathematics at the London Science Museum said: “He sat down and it was all very quiet – and all of a sudden he amazingly just cracked it. “He seems to have a large memory and he’s made this his life’s ambition. It’s quite remarkable to see it happen. “A very small number of people have this extraordinary ability; nowadays there is only a handful. “I believe that it is the highest sum calculated mentally.”

The University of Reims student began honing his calculation skills by finding the 13th root of a random 100 digit number. But that became too easy for the mathematical mastermind in 2004 when he calculated an answer in less than four seconds so he stopped trying to improve his time.

Nowadays he tries to find the 13th root of a random 200-digit number to train his brain.

Lemaire broke the record in the Science Museum’s History of Computing galley. It is the home of Charles Babbage’s Difference Engine No.2, the world’s first successful mechanical calculator, designed in the 1840s.

Lemaire had said before he smashed the world record: “I am pleased to be able to make my latest world-record attempt at the Science Museum. “I have been training very hard and I am confident I can break the world record.”

Youngest Female Web designer

The Youngest Girl Web Designer and Youngest CEO in the World, designed and developed the official website of her school, Presentation Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, Kerala, when she was only 8 years old.
She has won several National and International Awards for her excellence in web designing. The Association of American Webmasters honoured her by giving their membership along with their highest award for excellence in web designing, the Gold Web Award. She is the only member of the Association of American Webmasters, ever, under the age of 18.

He’s only five-years-old, but Giuliano Stroe has already set two world records … and has a better set of abs than we are ever likely to achieve.

Dubbed the world’s strongest boy, the muscle-bound lad has been training with his Romanian gymnast father since the age of two and can perform incredible physical stunts.

His latest feat saw him set a world record on an Italian TV show by doing 20 “air” push-ups — that’s where your legs don’t touch the floor between lifts. Seriously, it’s crazy, and this kid is five.

Last year the body-building youngster entered the record books by doing the fastest ever 30-foot hand walk with a weighted ball between his legs.

Dad Iulian, said: “He has been going to the gym with me ever since he was born.I always took him with me when I went training. But he’s still only a child and if he gets tired or bored we go and play.”

As a way to kick off American Heart Month and hoping to break a Guinness World Record, hundreds of students at Van Nuys Middle School took part this Monday in the “Jamba Jump Day”. Across the state, more than 500 other schools and some 83,000 people took part in the event, said organizers of the event, which included Jamba Juice and the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance

Just before 9 a.m., students and their teachers poured out onto the basketball courts at Van Nuys Middle School and formed groups of twos. Then, as P.E. teacher Barry Bialik counted down from 10 the shortest member of the team took a jump rope and began jumping.

The idea was for the students to solo skip, double dutch and jump for 10 minutes.

Kids at the school took to the event with “heart.” As loud, high intensity music blared from speakers, 11-year-old Marc Rodriguez took a rope handed by his teammate and rapidly began jumping without stopping for about three minutes.

When his turn was over, panting after the effort, Rodriguez said it was fun taking part in the event.

“It’s good, but it was hard to jump all that time. But I like to jump,” said the sixth-grader.

With the event, CAHPERD hoped to jump ahead of Australia in the Guinness World Record category of “Most People Jumping/Skipping Rope at the Same Time”. Australia’s record was 59,000 skippers and was set in 2008.

It was also a way to promote health and fitness, said Marci Coulson, spokesperson for the event.

“With jump rope optimizing cardiovascular conditioning, maximizing athletic skills, burning calories and allowing jumpers to get their heart pumping in a fun, entertaining, enjoyable way, CAHPERD and Jamba Juice hope to remind people that this is an easy activity that doesn’t require a lot of money or athletic skill and you can do it anytime, anywhere”, she said.

Jumping, she noted, is an easy way to tackle one of today’s major health crisis childhood obesity. In California, over 28% of children are considered severely overweight or obese; 32% among ethnic populations, according to CAHPERD. Being overweight makes those children prone to serious health problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) scientists recently predicted that 30 percent of U.S. children born in 2000 will develop Type 2 Diabetes in their lifetimes. If left unchecked, Diabetes can lead to complications such as heart disease/attacks, kidney failure, blindness, strokes, and amputations.

Van Nuys Middle School teacher Jim Clemmensen, who helped organize the event at the school, echoed those words.

“We want to show kids there are many different ways to get your body healthy,” he said. “And jumping rope is very appropriate for kids this age. It promotes agility, coordination and gets the heart beat going.”

Jack Hill – World’s Youngest DJ Guinness World Records

Little DJ Jack Hill, from Weston-super-Mare, has officially become the youngest male radio presenter in the world.

Jack, also known as DJ Jack on the Box, because he has to stand on a box to reach the controls, has been awarded the title by the Guinness World Records.

It follows the launch of his own radio show on Star 107.7 in 2008 after being spotted at the Unsigned Music Live event in Grove Park in August.

With his own regular slot on the last Sunday of every month from 3pm-4pm, it made the eight-year-old the youngest radio DJ in Britain.

Now it has been confirmed he is actually the youngest male presenter in the world as a five-year-old girl in America holds the youngest female presenter title.

Jack has a string of successes behind him and is also currently the Guinness World Record holder for “youngest club DJ” and is featured in the 2009 edition of the book.

He has been spinning records since the age of three and first became a Guinness record holder at six, for World’s Youngest DJ.

Jack’s twin brother Harry has now also decided he wants to be a DJ, so they will both follow in their dad’s footsteps, who has been a DJ for 20 years.

Dad Bob, 43, said: “Hopefully this will help make him successful.

“It’s all he wants to do.

“He comes home from school and goes straight on his decks.

“Music is his life and he will be a DJ when he grows up, there’s no doubt about it.

“His tastes are quite grown-up.

“He takes it all in his stride and doesn’t show much emotion but we know he enjoyed it.”

Star Radio DJ Darren Daley said: “Jack’s show has been going really well and the response has been excellent. People of all ages love him.

“I am delighted we have been able to assist Jack in becoming the world’s youngest male DJ.”

Otto – New World Oldest Dog World Record 2010

Otto, a dachshund-cross terrier, could enter the record books after the death of the previous holder, a dachshund called Chanel, at the age of 21 in the United States last month.

Peter Jones, Otto’s owner, has had the dog, which now suffers arthritis, since he was a puppy.

Mr Jones, 68, said his wife Lynn, 55, have a certificate to prove his age and Guinness World Records are now investigating.

Mr Jones, a retired sales manager, said: “When I saw this dog had died and he was the oldest in the world, I thought Otto must be getting on to being the oldest as well. I thought it would be good to see if Otto is the oldest. My vet said to me that they hadn’t got any older dogs going to see them.

“He will follow me wherever I go and doesn’t go running off. I if go out, I come back and he’s sat by the door waiting. He’s still going strong and he used to run like a greyhound and was really fast. But in the last couple of year’s that has stopped, what do you expect when he is 147?

“He’s got a bit of arthritis but apart from that he’s quite well.”

The greatest age recorded for a dog is 29 years and five months for an Australian cattle-dog named Bluey, owned by Les Hall of Rochester, Victoria, Australia. Bluey was obtained as a puppy in 1910 and worked among cattle and sheep for nearly 20 years before being put to sleep on November 14, 1939.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records said: “It sounds like Otto could be the new top dog. Sadly the oldest living dog, a dachshund names Chanel, passed away at the end of last month, she was 21.

“We would welcome Otto’s owners to contact us if they believe that he may now be the world’s oldest living dog.We can then provide them with the evidence that we will need to see to verify the claim.”
